When I began reconstructing my front page, I was hugely inspired by this front page, I felt the layout of the text was dynamic, it was edgy, however the use of the model kept this front page still feeling, urban, laid back and very chilled, I wanted to recreate this same sort of feel for my front page and i began constructing it.
However whilst constructing my front page I found that the pink and blue clashed too much, for me it was a bit too feminine for such a macho type of pose and I wanted my magazine to appeal to both boys and girls, so I continued doing research into front pages until i came across this image:
I felt that this look would be better suited for my target audience, I felt it had that macho "cool" edge that I was trying to create with my front page, so i began trying to re-create my front page, using design ideas from both magazines.
In order to do this I had to reconstruct my banner, and make my banner red:
